I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve been
stalking following a fellow writer and her publications this past year. I can’t even remember how I ended up stumbling across Brianne Kohl‘s work, but she’s got some really great fiction that’s been published by some small magazines and online presses in 2013. She also writes a pretty clever and interesting blog that I enjoy.
One of her stories that was published in the past few months was something that really resonated with me for a lot of personal reasons.
The story is “Boys of the Way Back” and it was published in Issue 21 of Epiphany Magazine.
I read stories published on Every Day Fiction quite frequently (although, admittedly, not every day). I’m a sucker for one word titles for some reason. If I come across a piece of flash fiction or a poem that has a one word title, I will almost always read it. In this particular instance, I was really glad I did.

This particular story is one of the briefest things I’ve ever read that completely blew me away.
You have time to read this. Trust me.
